Floor 2 Unlock Guide

Floor 2 is the vertical expansion of Grocery Store 1 in Own A Grocery Store (Roblox: Own A Market by dev-devs). It costs about $8,000 as a green floor button inside your first plot. It is not Grocery Store 2, which costs $30,000 from the Markets icon and opens a second lot with wheat, bread, and seafood. Mixing those two purchases is the most expensive beginner mistake on this wiki.

This page is the upstairs buy order. If floor one still needs you to carry every banana, finish Getting Started and Make Money Fast first. If you already have a humming ground floor and an $8,000 pile, keep reading.

Floor 2 versus Grocery Store 2

Floor 2 keeps your existing corn, animals, cashiers, and upgrade habits. Store 2 clones the tycoon onto a new lot. When you can only afford one expansion this session, Floor 2 almost always prints faster. Save the Markets spend for after upstairs is staffed — details live on Unlock Grocery Store 2.

When the $8,000 button is worth stepping on

Buy Floor 2 when all of these are true:

  • Store 1 ground floor has a register, bananas, corn, eggs, milk, and at least one worker plus a cashier that actually run without you.
  • Useful speed and stack upgrades on you and Worker 1 are past tutorial levels — rank spends with the upgrades tier list.
  • $8,000 is a pause in income, not your entire net worth. After the pad you still need cash for a peanut stand, a worker upstairs, and later the peanut-butter maker.
  • You are not thirty seconds from a rebirth you already planned. Rebirth resets money and progress; an empty upstairs you cannot restaff before goldify is a donation.

Do not buy Floor 2 because a Daily reward or Gift spiked your wallet for one minute. Wait until the ground floor is boring because it is full.

What unlocks upstairs

Public playthroughs and store-build videos (including the mid-article embed) consistently show the same specialty lines once you climb the stairs:

  • Peanuts — raw specialty shelf fed by peanut plants. High demand the moment it unlocks.
  • Peanut butter — processed line that consumes peanuts. Usually the first upstairs printer once a chef or dedicated worker can feed the machine.
  • Beans / chocolate — bean plots into a chocolate line. Strong ticket size; do not open it while peanuts are already starving.
  • Almonds — another high-ticket specialty. Customers swarm new pads; stock or the shelf becomes a museum.
  • Chef and extra workers — upstairs labor so you are not the only body carrying peanut butter tubs.
  • Extra register capacity — helpful once two floors push checkout queues.

Exact pad prices move with Updates. Use the products tier list for the live ranking once you see every button in your build. The early upstairs order that matches current play is: peanut shelf and plants → upstairs worker or chef → peanut-butter maker → then chocolate / almonds when peanuts are surplus.

Staff before you unlock every specialty

Floor 2 fails the same way Floor 1 fails: empty shelves and missing hands. Hire upstairs help before you click every red pad green. A chef that stocks processors is worth more than three unstaffed almond stands. You still cannot fire workers, so do not fill every hire slot onto a floor with no product for them to carry.

Keep ground-floor corn healthy. Chickens, cows, popcorn, and yogurt still fund the upstairs bills. Walking upstairs while floor-one animals starve is how an $8,000 expansion becomes a net loss.

Upgrade stack when trips between peanut plants and shelves are the bottleneck. Upgrade speed when workers arrive after the queue has already formed. Mirror the same rules from Make Money Fast; Floor 2 just raises the dollar amounts.

Spend order after the pad

  1. Claim any ready Daily / Gift cash so the first upstairs buys do not wipe you.
  2. Buy the Floor 2 pad (~$8,000).
  3. Unlock peanuts and get one worker or chef covering that shelf.
  4. Open peanut butter only when peanut surplus exists.
  5. Add chocolate / almonds one chain at a time.
  6. Pour spare cash into upstairs stack/speed, not cosmetics.
  7. Only then decide between saving toward Grocery Store 2 at $30,000 or holding for the first rebirth near $50,000.

Robux game passes that add cash or multipliers accelerate this same order; they do not replace staffing. Rank buys on gamepasses before you spend Robux on VIP or Double Cash. Scripts that claim to auto-buy Floor 2 belong in the warning pile on Scripts.

Floor 2, rebirth, and Store 2 timing

Three sinks compete after floor one is stable:

  1. Floor 2 (~$8,000) — more Store 1 income without splitting attention across lots.
  2. Grocery Store 2 ($30,000) — second plot, new product graph.
  3. Rebirth — first goldify around $50,000 and about +25% product value, wiping money and pad progress.

A practical path: finish ground floor → take Floor 2 and staff peanuts / peanut butter → print toward either Store 2 or the first goldify. Buying Store 2 with an empty upstairs wastes the cheaper printer. Rebirthing with unspent upstairs cash deletes the pile you just earned. Pair the prestige decision with the rebirth planner.

Pitfalls this page exists to stop

  • Stepping on Floor 2 the moment it turns green during a Gift spike.
  • Calling Floor 2 “Store 2” and dumping $30,000 into Markets by mistake.
  • Unlocking almonds, chocolate, and peanut butter in one bankrupt click.
  • Leaving floor-one corn empty while you admire upstairs decor.
  • Rebirthing before claiming timed Gifts or spending the upstairs seed cash.

Offline earnings still only help a staffed store. Log off with peanuts and peanut butter automated; logging off with an empty upstairs pad does nothing useful.

When the developers change pad prices or add another floor, Updates moves first. Until then, treat ~$8,000 upstairs on Store 1 as the Floor 2 gate, keep Markets for the separate $30k lot, and use Daily / Gifts as fuel — not as a reason to expand early. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Own A Grocery Store on Roblox.

How much does Floor 2 cost in Own A Market?

Floor 2 of Store 1 costs about $8,000 as a floor button inside your first grocery. It is not the $30,000 Grocery Store 2 purchase from Markets — see Unlock Grocery Store 2.

What does Floor 2 unlock?

Upstairs specialties: peanuts, peanut butter, beans / chocolate, almonds, a chef, and more workers. Rank what to stock next on the products tier list.

Should I buy Floor 2 or Grocery Store 2 first?

Floor 2 first in almost every session. It keeps Store 1’s staff and prints faster. Buy Store 2 only after upstairs is staffed and $30,000 is comfortable — timing is on Make Money Fast.

When should I buy Floor 2 relative to rebirth?

After floor one runs without you, and not right before a prestige you already planned. Rebirth wipes money and progress; read the Rebirth Guide before confirming.

Do I need Floor 2 before claiming Daily rewards?

No. Claim Daily rewards and Gifts from spawn on day one. Use that free cash to staff floor one, then save toward the $8,000 upstairs pad.
